Community Funding: How Every Dollar Makes a Difference
St. Stephen's House of London is one of a kind — not only as the sole long-term recovery home in the London area, but also as an organization that operates entirely on community funding. We receive no government funding or financial assistance.
Our revenue comes from two sources: modest rent from residents and the incredible generosity of donors and fundraisers in the London community. This model has sustained us for over 40 years.
The impact of every donation is direct and measurable. Your contribution helps provide:
- Safe, maintained housing for 18 residents across two homes
- Utilities, food, and daily necessities
- Program supplies for 12-step groups, life skills training, and relapse prevention sessions
- Property maintenance and repairs at both Gower Street and Blackfriars Street
Consider this striking statistic: for every $1 spent on recovery, the Government saves $7 in hospital, medical, and institutional care. Supporting St. Stephen's House isn't just an act of generosity — it's a sound investment in our community's health and well-being.
